Infrastructure Technical Integrator

This person will be working closely with an IS PM and  Solution/infrastructure architects on high value projects with the objective to resolve problems related to Infrastructure delivery  and ensure that a project is ready to go into production.

Key skills

  • Experience in infrastructure related role; proven success on projects with large-scale deployments; strong technical skills; understanding of application life-cycle management
  • Understanding of business drivers and all stakeholders’ requirements; understanding of documentation and frameworks; experience in capacity and performance management
  • Hands-on experience and expertise with specific technologies relevant to organization needs, including varied systems software and multiple platforms; creative thinking; innovative approach to problem solving
  • Good knowledge of existing technologies, industry standards, and best practices
  • Experience in  design/architecture, security, performance, scalability, and tuning for Custom applications.
  • Understanding of business drivers and all stakeholders’ requirements; understanding of documentation and frameworks; experience in capacity and performance management

Technologies Required: WebSphere, Tomcat, Weblogic, JBoss, Oracle

Key duties within Projects could include

  • Assist with  IS PM in developing the overall IS project plan and ensure all IS activities are documented.
  • Assist  IS Architect to integrate more in-depth technical details to the design.
  • Work with IS SMEs to design and implement project activities.
  • Ensure IS non-functional requirements are followed throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Ensure IS quality standards are followed.
  • Accountable for any activity contained in the IS detailed plan.
  • Review IS requests forms for installations and configuration of components.
  • Coordinate project related  OAT activities.
  • Assist with performance testing activities.
  • Assist with all requests for change (RFC activities including impact analysis, scheduling, approvals, back out plan, post implementation reports).
  • Work with PM to provide project status reports to the Management
  • Advise management on technical issues and risks.
  • Brief  management and staff members on technical or operational decisions taken and their effect on project or program plan or expected outcome
  • Assist in conducting gap analysis between the existing infrastructure and the infrastructure required to support the system(s).
  • Enforce infrastructure architecture execution as well as ongoing refinement tasks.
  • Coordinate with SME to support infrastructure activities
  • Consult project teams to fit infrastructure architecture assignments and identify need to modify infrastructure architecture to attain project requirements.
  • Coordinate the resolution of  any infrastructure  issues throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Assist in project warranty activities.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT

Bachelor degree in IT (or equivalent work experience)

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada

Must have excellent communication skills
