NOTES:
This roles is also not a high level enterprise architecture role.  This role is managing a team of very technical individuals who design the systems that are put into the production environment.
The client is looking for someone who is really technical that can also manage people.  They need to understand how to put together enterprise systems that meet compliance, security, disaster and performance standards.

The position is focused more on applications.  However, having knowledge of infrastructure architecture would definitely help.

The position is focused on ensuring that a system is designed and built properly.  The architects are involved in reviewing/approving new platforms, reviewing change requests and providing a high very level design pre-project. Once a project is approved and starts, the architects do the detailed design and support the development teams throughout the project.  Once a project moves to production the architecture team is the last line of support.  If there is a problem that their tier 1, 2 and 3 teams can’t resolve, then this team would be engaged.

This Architecture team does not follow a formal architecture methodology like Zachman or TOGAF.  There are similarities to these frameworks, but they are not looking for someone who wants to formally follow an architecture methodology.  They need to be able to adapt to the business and organizations needs.

There will be approx. 6 people reporting to this role.
